A full day of entertainment is guaranteed when you attend the Lobsters Festival at Shoreline Village in Long Beach. Food is the main attraction at this event but the entertainment goes all day long with Cajun, Zydeco and Blues bands, plus a big shaded dance floor on the outdoor lawns next to the festival Long Beach Arena. The annual event has been around for 15 years or more and gets around 15,000 people attending over a three day period. Here is past years coverage.
Vendors sell a variety of foods and products, and the entertainment showcased is for all ages, with special stages entertaining the kids with jugglers, balloon artists, and shows.
Liquor drinks are sold, as well as the delicious lobster flown in fresh, cooked and served by Bristol Farms.
While you can go into the festival simply to listen to the bands and enjoy the atmosphere, lobster lovers won't want to miss watching the unique tanks created especially for this event. The operation is fun to see, and the people cooking the food are incredibly friendly and nice, too. It's just an amazing day along the Long Beach shoreline overlooking the harbor and Queen Mary.
The Original Long Beach Lobster Festival features fresh Maine Lobsters flown in nightly from the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Bristol Farms Master Chef Bruce Jacobs and crew steam it to mouth-watering perfection in the world's largest lobster steamers. Succulent lobster, melted butter dipping sauce, fresh cut lemons, coleslaw, dinner roll and watermelon are usually offered in the price of the lobster feast with choice of a 1.25 lb. or 2 lb. lobster, melted butter dipping sauce, fresh cut lemons, coleslaw, dinner roll and watermelon. In 2010 the event introduced Surf & Turf that include steak option.
The Original Long Beach Lobster Festival also features an international food court with ribs, chicken, Jamaican, Asian fusion, arts & crafts booths, delicious desserts, beer & wine, and themed drinks.
