On Sunday, October 9, 2011, the County of Los Angeles
Department of Beaches and Harbors invites you to Discover
Marina del Rey, a fun-filled family and community event that
will feature exhibitor booths, water events, live music and
marionette shows. Plus, inflatables, rides, games, arts and
crafts, and much much more!

Cost
Visitors can purchase a wristband for $5 to access all
inflatables,
games, snack carts and a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.
Access to other activities, such as music performances,
information
booths, is FREE.
Parking
Parking is available for $8 in County Lots #77 and #4,
located at
13560 and 13500 Mindanao Way respectively.
Activities
For your listening pleasure, a sensational performance will
be given by the Venice High School choral group, the
"Allegros," under the direction of Wendy Kornbeck.
Other activities include Children's Storytime, presented by
the Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library's Community Library
Manager, Winona Philabaum, before each Bob Baker Marionettes
performance.
Enjoy a unique arts and crafts workshop offered by the Los
Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation.
The W.A.T.E.R. Youth Program will also offer leisure
kayaking in the main channel for visitors ages 6 and up. An
adult must accompany children under the age of 10 and good
swimming skills are strongly recommended.
And don't miss the simulated search and rescue demonstration
with a helicopter and boat in the main channel by the U.S.
Coast Guard.
Youth Fishing workshops will be offered off the fishing pier
for visitors ages 7 to 15.
Food & Refreshments
Food and beverages are available for purchase throughout the
day at the Park's new restaurant, the Hornblower Cafe.
