As the first rain begins to fall in late October mushrooms flourish in Mendocino County, home to more than 3,000 types of mushrooms, including 500 types of edible mushrooms: chanterelles, porcinis, morels, hedgehogs, and even the rare Candy Cap mushroom.

MENDOCINO: Daily Mushroom Tour 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Mycological enthusiast Adrienne Long, a student of naturalist Dr. Ryane Snow, leads tour. Meet in the Stanford Inn lobby for an introductory mushroom talk before heading out to explore the local forests and meadows. Tours last 1.5 to 2 hours.
