Other cities have something called a Pier Swim. Oceanside Harbor Days Festival calls that same event Tiki Swim -- clever! And fun. At Oceanside annual Harbor Days festival the public is invited to a free beach and water event with friendly competitions. In Tiki Swim the competitors swim with a big yellow inflatable duck tethered by a bright red rescue boat.

Two event-filled days of sun, sand and surf provide an outstanding opportunity for our vendors to enjoy the thousands of residents and neighbors who come out to experience the many fun activities, including first-rate arts & crafts, great food, the Pirate's Cove exhibition, vintage pirate ships, kids area, Nail n' Sail competition, military, police and fire displays, and much, much more. Harbor Days is free to the public.

Nail n Sail is a version of a similar event in Ventura Harbor called Kinetic Sculpture Race. In Oceanside you get to watch contestants sawing, nailing and painting their made-on-the-spot wooden vessels on the beach, then placing them in the water for the race.

A Sandcastle Competition, fishing derby, pancake breakfast, beer garden, bands performing, police dog demos, vendors, foods and a day at the beach all make for a festival that can't be beat!
