the Royal Court and Royal Guard all join in as the Mayor and Queen Topaz cut
celebration cakes with a happy birthday anthem to beloved Pacific Grove. The
band leads a hometown sing along to celebrate the Feast of Lanterns
and the Chautauqua Assembly.
Feast of Flavors - Chautauqua Hall
This luncheon is a local restaurant showcase and features 20 different
restaurants. The Bridge Ministry assists in serving at the event. The 2018 Royal
Court and Royal Guard are on hand to mingle with the public.
Feast of Dancing - Chautauqua Hall
Dance the night away with the Royal Court and Royal Guard! The event will open
30 minutes early at 5:30 pm for families that have kids with special needs so
that they can interact with Queen Topaz, the Princesses and Scholar Chang. DJ
Chris spins a hometown dance party!
Pet Parade - Caledonia Park
Dress up your favorite pet or stuff animal and join the Pet Parade. The 2018
Royal Court and Royal Guard will hand out ribbons to everyone in the parade and
ride in the antique fire truck to lead the parade. Directly following the parade
the PG Recreation Department staff hands out ice cream treats for all the
participants.
Queen Mom's Tea - Masonic Lodge
Join the Royal Court in celebrating decades of service by our beloved Queen
Moms. A royal tea will be served and all Royal Mothers are invited to attend,
especially Queen Moms from the past. Royal mothers are anyone who has had their
child serve on the Feast of Lanterns Royal Court and Royal Guard.
Feast Day - Pageant
The big day takes place at Lovers Point Park.
Yoga with the Royal Court from 10:30 am till 12:00 pm on the grass.
Sand Castle Contest judged at 2:30 pm and announced at 3:00 pm
Pier Entertainment begins at 1:30 pm and lasts all day with the flag ceremony by
Boy Scout Troop 125.
Feast of Lanterns Pageant at Lovers Point Park.
Sponsors walk and Former Royalty introductions start at 8:00 pm.
It is followed with Pacific Groves Pageant titled "Queen Topaz Escapes"
Come and witness the heroic journey and transformative power of true love!
**No Closing Ceremonies the day after. Returning to the origin of the
Feast Pageant as the official closing ceremonies, as it was for the Chautauqua
Assembly.
