Welcoming some 15,000 women from all over the world to Palm Springs, California, The Dinah now is not only an event celebrating the tapestry of women around the world but also stands as a seminal Mecca for lesbians. It has been hailed by national media as the largest Lesbian event in the world.
 
Created & produced by Mariah Hanson in 1990 under her Club Skirts marquee,  in less than two decades Hanson parlayed a one-day small-scale event originally held at the Palm Springs museum into a 5-day, one-stop destination booking entire hotels, delivering spectacular comedy shows, massive dance parties, live concerts, activism, celebrity antics and games, and legendary pool parties.
