The annual Tomato Royale and Great Bull Run at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in July, in Southern California in the fall, and throughout the U.S., includes a "run with the bulls" event, followed by the tomato events in which the public can pay to throw tomatoes at each other for a fee to participate. Bands, entertainment, food and beer (age 21+) and lots of stimuli guarantee to keep you on the edge of your seat. You actually can purchase a viewing ticket in which you sit in the stands and watch the action on the field and in the tomato pit! Cost is around $10 for spectators.

There is also a Tomato Battle produced by another organization, and often held in the same venue as Tomato Royale.
