Asian American Expo is back to celebrate its at Pomona Fairplex. Year of the Dragon celebrations with the largest Asian Trade Show with 1,000+ vendors, 7 large exhibition halls, 3 unique food courts featuring over 100 food vendors, and 9 non-stop performance stages.
Founded in 1982 as a means of gathering the local community together Asian American Expo has seen many changes over the last 30 years. When it first launched, the event was called the Chinese American Expo, with only 60 exhibitors and the simple goal of bringing together local Asian businesses and consumers under one roof. From those humble beginnings, the Asian American Expo has expanded both its reach and its scale. Attendees from all different ethnic and work backgrounds, from both local and international, are bound to be at the Expo. The Asian American Expo is hosted at the beginning of each year to celebrate the coming of the Lunar New Year Festival, with the goal of recreating the New Year celebrations found across Asia at this time of the year. Food, shopping, entertainment, and fun - these are all annual staples that can be found at each year’s event. All of this success would not be made possible without the support from the greater community both locally and internationally.
California has approx. 58 county fairs, one for each county. The Asian community hosts the equivalent of a county fair in Pomona at Fairplex where the mega Los Angeles County Fair is held. Asian American Expo is like a county fair featuring arts, performances, vendors galore, cars on display, entertainment, tons of food (including some samples,) and traditional Chinese New Year ceremonies with dignitaries and the Dragon Dance.
Each year the event adds new events such as an anime component called Anime Impulse with the Maid Cafe, video games, KPOP and Asian pop culture events & music.
Asian Beer Fest features the best of imports ranging from Tsingtao to Sapporo beers.
