Yosemite National Park Facelift  is a volunteer park-wide cleanup. Show up early to help with special projects or enjoy a special place in the Park taking some time to clean up some trash. Participants must register at a check-in station in order to participate. We will provide trash bags, litter sticks and safety vests. All volunteers receive a raffle ticket for the daily 5:00pm raffle. There are evening programs every night starting September 27-29, 2017 at the Auditorium.  | Wednesday, September 27, 2017, 8 a.m.- Sunday, October 1, 2017, 1 p.m. Location: Yosemite National Park |

Beale AFB Pollinator Habitat Restoration | Beale AFB will be planting native shrubs along the Dry Creek Nature trail in order to create habitat for pollinators. The event will consist of multiple days of activities. On September 29th, volunteers will prepare the site for planting by removing nonnative plants, thatch, and trash from the site, as well as installing artificial wildlife habitat. Planting of native shrubs and hand seeding of native forbs and grasses will be conducted on November 10 and 17, 2017 once temperatures have fallen. NPLD New Hogan Lake | NPLD 2017 at New Hogan Lake will be held on Saturday September 30, 2017 at the Fiddleneck Recreation Area. Enhancement of the Cultural Heritage Garden at MCAGCC | Volunteers will be needed to lay down footpath pavers, plant trees and native desert plants, and construct a shade structure. Bring gloves and water. There will be a morning shift and an afternoon shift. Volunteers will receive 4 hours volunteer credits. Boulder Creek Habitat Restoration Project | Come enjoy the great outdoors and help the San Diego River Park Foundation to restore an oak woodland along a free-flowing mountain stream. Volunteers will help create habitat for wildlife and keep water clean by removing invasive plants, watering native plants, and more! NPLD Black Butte Lake | Enjoy being outdoors and keeping your lake beautiful? Join community members and park rangers at Black Butte Lake for National Public Lands Day 2017. Volunteers will assist with projects such as trail clearing, shoreline clean-up, and campground beautification. This volunteer event will begin at 9am and end at 1pm. Refreshments will be provided at noon for volunteers who participate in the event. Closed toe shoes are required. Northeast Greenagers at Michelangelo Playground | Come join the Greenagers and Rec and Park staff in stewarding Michelangelo Playground. Greenthumb Restoration | The Greenthumbs is a group of volunteers (all ages and walks of life) who work together once a month assisting the Big Bear Ranger Station's Native Plant Nursery and Restoration Program. Paradise Royale Mountain Bike Trail Maintenance | ​BLM will host volunteers from the Redwood Coast Mountain Bike Association and the surrounding community to complete trail maintenance on the Paradise Royale Mountain Bike Trail (PRBMT). Volunteers will ride/hike to project site along PRMBT and will maintain the trail by clearing debris and brush from trail cooridor and scrapping the trail tread. NPLD volunteers may camp for free at Tolkan Campground for all of NPLD weekend. Shooting Pit Cleanup | ​Clean-up of shooting pit on Public Land outside of Independence, CA. Litter associated with target shooting and other activities has significantly accumulated over the years. Local hunters and target shooters from Independence and Lone Pine approached Bishop FO staff stating interest in cleaning up area. A local Bishop, CA business is willing to pay for delivery cost of roll-off container for litter disposal. Nature Hike at Inaja Memorial Picnic Area | Join the U.S. Forest Service on a short nature walk. We will briefly discuss the history of the Inaja Picnic Site as well as the flora and fauna of the local area. Family friendly hike. Dogs are allowed. Bring water, walking shoes and sun protection. Paint with a Ranger | Connect with nature via paint! Art is a great way to gain a new perspective on what you see out on the refuge. It allows you to discover shapes and colors you may not have noticed before! Each “Paint with a Ranger” program will have a different theme. All materials are supplied, so just bring yourself, your family, and friends! All skill levels are welcome to join! Recommended for ages 7 and up. Community Bioblitz and iNaturalist Tutorial | Join us on Saturday, September 30th from 1:15-3:30 PM to explore the unique intertidal ecosystem of Aquatic Park Cove during low-tide. Many people have walked along our beach, but few have looked beneath the adjacent rocks to see the wildlife hidden in our harbor. The purpose of this BioBlitz event is for volunteers to complete a species count using iNaturalist, an app and website developed by the California Academy of Sciences that enables citizen scientists to record valuable biodiversity data. | Saturday, September 30, 2017, 1:15-3:30 p.m.

Pratt Trail Maintenance & Restoration | Join us on Saturday October 7 as we work to maintain and restore the Pratt Trail above Ojai. We'll be working on the upper portion of the trail and driving to the top via Nordhoff Road. Transportation will be provided. Please wear long pants and bring work gloves and glasses. We'll provide all additional PPE and tools. We'll be meeting at the Ojai Ranger Station at 8:30am and carpooling up from there. We plan to return no later than 4pm. DTRNA Public Lands Event | Work would be centrally located at the main interpretive center where volunteers would work to re-establish trails, replace trail signs, re-paint trail stakes, install color-coded markers to distinguish trails, clean the interpretive kiosk, replace fencing signage and bird deterrent, and clean-up of the general area. Blind Canyon Trail Restoration | ​Partner with the City of Desert Hot Springs to work in the Blind Canyon area of the Sand to Snow Monument and the Blind canyon hiking trail. Restoration work includes native plant seed dispersal, horizontal mulching to erase signs of illegal motorized tresspass, trash removal.
