This gourmet celebration is an opportunity to taste award-winning olive oils
paired with a variety of premier foods, wines, and artisanal creations.
Celebrity chefs will showcase the finest ingredients, the majority of which are
produced in San Benito County. Festival-goers will be able to taste creations,
as well as mingle and meet the various growers and creators, while enjoying live
music, local arts, crafts, and the scenic venue. Hollywood history, Spanish
padres and a rich agricultural bounty will come together in the first annual San
Benito Olive Festival. San Benito County, located south of the San Francisco Bay
Area is home to eight of the top ten California super foods, including spinach,
broccoli and award-winning olive oil. Oils will be available for tasting, paired with locally produced chocolates, apricots, wine and other artisanal foods. The festival mission is to bring awareness to the region's world-class agriculture and artisans, with an emphasis on olive oil. Olive trees were planted by the Spanish missionaries in the 1700's and today, olives and olive oils are more popular than ever.
