SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF.-- Annual North Beach Festival in Little Italy and the home of the famed beat generation is considered one of the country's original outdoor Festivals. It includes numerous streets in the heart of the district with more than 125 arts and crafts booths, 20 gourmet food booths, three stages of live entertainment, Italian street painting, beverage gardens, children's activities and the blessing of the animals.
Blessing of the Animals at The National Shrine of Saint Francis of Assisi happens from 2 to 3 p.m. both days during the festival.
Kids' Chalk Art is available for those who buy a square and street chalk on Vallejo Street between Grant Ave & Columbus from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Parking is available at: 735 Vallejo (south side of street) between Stockton and Powell, 766 Vallejo (north side of street above Central Station) between Stockton and Powell and on Filbert between Columbus and Mason.
