Annual Día de los Muertos celebration in Mission Plaza includes a festive procession which launches the day. Dance, poetry, mariachi music, folkloric dance, arts & crafts, costume & altar contests, a memorial altar and wall, food and vendor booths, and much more are in store. This is a family-friendly, reverent and festive celebration to honor dear ones still alive in our hearts. For additional information, contact

Mission Plaza Saturday morning's festival begins with a traditional procession at Mission Plaza in San Luis Obispo. There will be a large procession from the Mission Plaza, through the Museum of Art, to the traditional altar back at the Mission Plaza. ​Traditional costumes and pictures of loved ones encouraged.
