• Carnival March 20-23, 2025, Thursday & Friday 5-11 p.m. opens; Saturday 2-11 p.m. & Sunday 1-11 p.m.  Fiesta de Carnival features rides, games, live music and a vendor area to sell merchandise. Contact info - Office 562-799-7737  or fiestadecarnival.com
• Family Art Night March 21, 2025 is kickoff of the festival. It is held at South Gate Auditorium at approx. 5 p.m.
• Miss South Gate March 22, 2025
• Miss Azaleita March 22, 2025, 1 p.m. Open to girls ages 4-7 years. Contest held in South Gate Park Auditorium. Girl must demonstrate a talent such as singing, dancing, playing an instrument or artistic ability. Must have an evening gown for competition. Hosted by South Gate Multicultural Women's Club.
• Fireworks Show March 22, 2025, 8 p.m. at South Gate Park
• Car Show March 23, 2025, 11 a.m. at South Gate Golf Course
• Karate Tournament March 23, 2025

Azalea history: With a desire for the City of South Gate to host an event that would instill civic pride the Azalea was adopted by the City Council as South Gate's official flower and the City's first Azalea Festival produced on April 16-17, 1966.

Annual Azalea Festival often includes a Fireworks Display in honor of this event's long history with the community. Fireworks take place at South Gate Park, 4900 Southern Ave., South Gate, CA. Free admission.

The Azalea Festival grew. Economics and demographics have tugged at the heartstrings of the event planners through the years, but persistence and partnership has kept it going.
