The Golden Gate Open attracts the rising stars of professional tennis to the Bay Area. This Challenger event is also for stars launching their comeback. CiCi Bellis, who played her last professional match in 2020, is part of the leadership group for the challenger-series level Golden Gate Open.

The Golden Gate Open, a WTA and ATP event  named Atherton native CiCi Bellis as co-tournament director alongside founder Pablo Pires de Almeida, who coached tennis at USF for 14 seasons.

The action is set for August 12-19, 2023 at the Taube Tennis Center on the campus of Stanford. The tournament features exciting action on the court showcasing professional men and women tennis players from around the world.

The Taube Tennis Center is one of the best tennis facilities in the nation. Tennis Stadium was completed in the spring of 1997. It features 2500 individual seats, a championship Plexicushion indoor court and  office space.
