Dummies must be at the Base Lodge by 10 a.m. to check in and then be judged on creativity. The jumping typically begins around noon, followed by an award ceremony on the Base Lodge Deck.

23rd annual Dummy Downhill invites participants to build a dummy on skis or snowboards that gets launched off of a big jump, while spectators cheer on as the characters fly down the hill or crash hard. Diamond Peak's signature spring event and biggest party of the year includes a panel of celebrity judges by the Base Lodge who evaluate Dummies on the snow. Dummy launch and an awards ceremony.
Prizes and certificates are awarded for:
Dummies cannot be live, have pyrotechnics and must weigh less than 75 pounds. Dummies, songs and costumes must be family-friendly. Team captains should be present to help load the dummies after they have been judged and unload at the top of the jump.

Northstar's annual Pond Skim is part of Spring It On Celebration which includes Tug-A-War and other seasonal activities, competitions and games. Participants are encouraged to dress up as judging is based on best costume as well as pond crossing. It is a similar event to Mammoth Mountain's Pond Skim that closes out the winter ski season.
If you're looking for an entertaining festival that's a little wacky and wet, head for the annual Spring it On Festival's Pond Skim, guaranteed to give you chills & thrills.
Scoring
Costume – creativity and acting the part (living) the costume.
Crossing- style, difficultly, bail height, and splash (if you sink you may
get extra points).
If you get across, that means nothing. This is all about style!
All scoring and selection of winners is solely and completely up to the
judges.
After the Pond Skim teams of 6 compete in Tug-A-War contest across the artic pond. This event is also free to the first 8 teams of 6 competitors who register in the morning from 9-10:30 a.m. on the Gondola Deck. This is a single elimination style contest.
