Huntington Beach Police Department operates under the supervision and direction of Huntington Beach Police Chief.
It is one of the premier departments in California and the nation. It is comprised of 237 sworn police officers who not only enforce laws, but also provide confidence to Huntington Beach citizens and visitors, who know that they are in a relatively safe environment thanks to these individuals in uniform who protect the city's beaches, streets, businesses and citizens.

Within the Huntington Beach PD are a variety of professionals performing a broad range of services and duties...Patrol Officers, Detectives, Narcotic Officers, Directed Enforcement Team, Neighborhood Enhancement Team, SWAT, Beach Detail and Aero Bureau.
In addition, there are nearly 150 civilian such as Parking Control Officers, Records Clerks, Communication Operators, Crime Scene Investigators and Detention Officers.
