Eat Well for Better Health

Do you think you're eating well? The majority of Americans surveyed say they'd prefer labeling of their food, and they'd opt for organic versus chemically treated and genetically modified produce when given a choice. Eating well” has its limits, however, as Michelle Obama is finding out.

There's a backlash at schools around the nation that don't like the First Lady's healthy” food program which includes whole grain tortillas instead of traditional tortillas in the Southwest, no pizza,  and no fried chicken in the South. Childhood obesity has quadrupled in adolescents in the past 30 years–over one-third adolescents are overweight or obese. However, fruit being served in schools contains 50% less nutritional value than it once did. Furthermore, 80% of applesauce and apples served to students as healthy options are saturated with the pesticide, diphenylamine. It has been banned in Europe because it was not proven to be safe.
