Amber House contains two historic homes, a 1905 Craftsman and 1895 Colonial Revival in Sacramento's Midtown where hotel guests can walk to fine or casual restaurants, shops, galleries, and entertainment.
Rooms are named for famous composers and authors--Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Brahms, Chaucer, Wordsworth and Dickinson, where there's a heart shaped jacuzzi, placed complete with skylights. For tall guys there's only one king bed in the Wordsworth Room.
All rooms have flat screen and wireless Internet, though other features such as fireplace, soaking tubs and Ipod docking stations vary from room to room.
If you're looking for something a little more intimate than the convention and business hotels, this place appeals to all types but excels in romantic escapes.
Among the eclectic things to see and do, there's a One Man Band with music performed in a purple truck by a man named Winko.
