• Ice Rink Opening Day November 8, 2024, 3 p.m. The skating season officially begins!  Kristi Yamaguchi officially opens the ice rink for the season with some spectacular young talent ice skating demos. She's known to grace the ice, as well, with some of her award-winning moves that garnered Yamaguchi Olympic medals as two-time world champion. Special Event tickets are $30 and must be purchased online.
• Family Photo Night November 14, 2024, 5 & 7 p.m. Capture your family’s holiday photo under shimmering lights with a professional photographer. Your skating ticket includes one digital photo—reserve your spot now, as space is limited.
• Ice Rink Opening Ceremony November 15, 2024, 6 p.m. Join Kristi as she celebrates local skaters and their performances and cuts the ribbon for the official opening.
• Elf Night November 19, 2024, 5:3-7:30 p.m. Hang out with Buddy the Elf and have your photo taken with this iconic character dressed in his green suit and yellow tights. You’ll be delighted with his infectious excitement for the holidays.
• Family Photo Night November 21, 2024, 5 & 7 p.m. Capture your family’s holiday photo under shimmering lights with a professional photographer. Your skating ticket includes one digital photo—reserve your spot now, as space is limited.
• Elsa Night December 3, 2024, 5:3-7:30 p.m. Visit with Elsa from Frozen under the glow of twinkling lights on ice. Take your photo with her while moonlight adds to the enchanting nighttime session.
• Ugly Sweater Night December 4, 2024, 5 & 7 p.m. Wear your ugly Holiday sweater and be entered to win a $25 gift card to a City Center restaurant. Show off your festive style while enjoying a fun evening on the ice.
• Santa at the Rink December 6, 2024, 5-7 p.m. Santa will be on-hand to greet skaters at the ice rink and spread some Holiday cheer. Stop by and share your wish list between trips around the ice!
• Kristi Yamaguchi Barbie Event December 7, 2024, 9 a.m. Mattel has created a Kristi Yamaguchi Barbie doll modeled after the Olympic champion. Guests will meet Kristi and receive an autographed doll from her during this special skating session.
• Grinch Night December 10, 2024, 5:3-7:30 p.m. The Grinch, a green, grumpy figure with a mischievous grin, will make an appearance at the Ice Rink.
• Pajama Party December 11, 2024, 5 & 7 p.m. Slip into your coziest PJs and skate under the stars for a magical winter evening full of fun. Those wearing PJs will be entered to win a $25 gift card from a City Center restaurant.
• Santa at the Rink December 13, 2024, 5-7 p.m. Santa will be on-hand to greet skaters at the ice rink and spread some Holiday cheer. Stop by and share your wish list between trips around the ice!
• Glow Night December 18, 2024, 5 & 7 p.m. Skaters receive a glowing necklace to light up the ice with vibrant colors.
• Santa at the Rink December 20, 2024, 5-7 p.m. Santa will be on-hand to greet skaters at the ice rink and spread some Holiday cheer. Stop by and share your wish list between trips around the ice!
•  Olympian Kristi Yamaguchi Skating Clinic December 23, 2024, 9-10 a.m. Reserve your spot now - there are limited tickets available for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
• Barbie Day January 1, 2025, 5 p.m. Ring in the New Year while enjoying tunes from the Barbie soundtrack in honor of Kristi Yamaguchi’s recently released Barbie doll.
• Kpop Night January 2, 2025, 5 & 7 p.m. Popular K-pop bands like BTS and BLACKPINK have taken the world by storm with their catchy music, intricate choreography, and global fanbases. Skate to their sounds and celebrate this phenomenon.
• Sabrina Carpenter Night January 3, 2025, 9 p.m. Enjoy songs by popular singer/songwriter Sabrina Carpenter with friends at this Friday night skate party.
• Taylor Swift Day January 4, 2025, 5 p.m. Skate to the sounds of internationally renowned Taylor Swift. Bring your best “Swifties” for a memorable event on the ice.

The only outdoor ice rink in the Tri Valley features more than 4,100 square feet of ice - which in 2023 now adds an additional 15% of ice surface for skating!  A portion of all ticket sales benefit Yamaguchi's Always Dream Foundation. Yamaguchi calls the East Bay home and has raised her children there. The ice rink is named after Kristi Yamaguchi - 1992 Olympic gold medal winner in women's figure skating.

She kicks off the grand opening with a few words. She has opened other similar outdoor seasonal ice skating rinks and her name has appeared on Bay Area rinks such as San Jose's Downtown Ice, which did not return in 2022-2023 holiday season, much to the dismay and disappointment of many who have made visits to these rinks a family tradition.

Kristi Yamaguchi Holiday Ice Rink is operated by Ice-America, a licensed trademark of Seaside Ice, LLC, is a creator, producer, and operator of outdoor, temporary ice skating rinks, and an ice event and television production group. The company was formed by another award-winning skater, Scott Williams, who builds and operates seasonal ice rinks throughout the world, and also produces ice skating shows for entertainment, travel and television.

In 2022 Williams also created ice rinks in Huntington Beach and several cities in California.
