MISCELLANEOUS
Connie Young will be forever remembered as an adventurer, planner, humanitarian and lover of the wild and untamed landscape. A natural organizer, Young often volunteered with special events and projects like Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade. She worked many years behind the scenes to help make it a great success. Nothing stopped Connie from living life to the fullest. She didn't let health issues or other obstacles get in her way. And when life tried to slow her down, Connie joked that she was going to get in her car "like Thelma & Louise" and step on the gas.
The California native grew up in Southern California and enjoyed summers outdoors with her siblings, spending time on Catalina Island or in the forests of the San Bernardino mountains where her parents owned a cabin. She was proud of her daughter (an M.D. with a sought-after skill for diagnosing brain injuries), and her son, a web developer, who traveled with her. Her husband, a brilliant aerospace scientist and manager, was her rock. She idolized her grandchildren and beamed with pride in sharing news of their lives and amazing accomplishments.
A lover of nature, she introduced SeeCalifornia to some of the state's greatest assets such Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park and Joshua Tree National Park. Connie Young traveled the globe but her roots were firmly planted in awe-inspiring California.
