HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA
-- A newly upgraded interpretive center open to the public daily (9 a.m.-4
p.m. as of this posting) on Warner Ave. in Huntington Beach is a great place
to start your wetlands exploring. In addition to finding
brochures, books, and information about the local ecology, you'll looking at the
displays that provide opportunities to discover the possibilities that await you
outside the door at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands.
Located on the perimeter of the wetlands with a parking lot on Warner Ave. (near
Pacific Coast Highway) the Interpretive Center welcomes visitors to drop
in and visit, free of charge.
A walkbridge was built adjacent to the trailer facility to allow nature explorers to access a 1.5 mile loop trail safely. People originally had to walk along a portion of the busy street bridge on Warner to gain access to the wetlands main trails. For the thousands of students that come annually on class assignments or field trips, the path was a safety issue which has now been resolved.
When visiting Huntington Beach or if living there, be sure to drop by the Interpretive Center.
