Olive Recreation Center hosts both youth

Log Cabin
in Verdugo Park. In 1961, recreation
center featured a new second floor
addition built on top of the existing
pool bath house and would include an
indoor gymnasium, meeting rooms,
kitchen, restrooms, lounge and
administrative offices. In 1984, Verdugo
Pool was used as Olympic Training site
for the Games of the XXIII Olympiad,
held in Los Angeles.

The Stough Canyon Nature Center serves
as an educational gateway to the Verdugo
Mountains and Rim of the Valley Trails.
Nestled in the Verdugo Mountains, the
Nature Center provides opportunities for
the public to learn more about the
wildlife, flora, fauna, and habitat in
this area of Los Angeles County through
planned activities, exhibits, and nature
hikes.
Stough Canyon Nature Center was named
after Oliver J. Stough, who donated land
to the City for public parkland that
includes Stough Park, Stough Canyon

The Nature Center was dedicated in 2001
and has an exhibit hall with educational
