There are many ways to experience California's natural beauty and the Pacific Ocean provides one of the most exhilarating, exciting adventures to see. Why not see it on horseback, moving faster, swifter, and higher than you can on foot?
Shown in the photo is Salinas River State Beach, part of Monterey Bay's
unique coastal dune system--a great spot to ride horseback! The beach is a
popular fishing site and also home to many species of birds, including the
California brown pelican, red-tailed hawk, American kestrel, western snowy
plover and many more. Dogs are not allowed at this location but horses are.
The beach is located one mile south of Moss Landing. Take Potrero Road from
Highway 1.
