Holt Park, 121 W. 5th St., Holtville, CA, has provided
entertainment and activities through its history.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt
happens in Holt Park, along with celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries
and even weddings in the small gazebo. When Holtville was planned and built, it
was designed like so many town squares of 100 years ago. The businesses would
surround the square and face the park, providing lovely views. City
Hall is located in the center of the park, so during the week days there are
always business people coming and going, stepping out into the park to grab a
bite to eat, or just relaxing for a breather under a shade tree. Only
minor alterations have been made to the park throughout its service to the
community, including removal of a fish pond, and the odd monkey cage. Our
favorite landmark in Holt Park is the signage that tells you the distance to
other places. Gray's Well, Yuma, El Centro and San Diego all are listed on the
sign in the park. They say the secret time capsule is buried in Holt Park and
will be opened in 2015 to unveil surprises from the past.
Mac Park is located in the east part of town. It is host to the Holtville Little
League and also has a playground for recreation. It is located near Holtville
Middle School.
Ralph Samaha Park is located on the corner of Holt and Seventh Street. It is
host to Babe Ruth, High School Jr. / Varsity Baseball Teams and to Soccer. If
you see it on Google Maps as Recreation Park, you are in the right place!
Holtville Civic Center is available for public rental for your special
occasions.
Holtville Swimming Pool located next to Samaha Park is available for rent, too.
