Monrovia Parks
In Monrovia you can look north and from any public park you'll see the
stunning mountains of the Angeles National Forest a mere three miles distance.
Such an amazing, massive wilderness next to the L.A. basin spoils residents of
places such as Monrovia who look at their parks system from a different
perspective. The city, in fact, commemorates one bear who came out of the
mountains and into their city, rummaging through residential trash cans,
swimming in backyard pools and making this city, its parks and streets his own
personal playground. Samson the bear was going to be euthanized and received a
governor's last hour reprieve, thus living out his days at the Santa Ana Zoo
where Samson the Bear died. So if you ask about Monrovia's parks and love of
nature, the city's got both! Outdoor facilities are available for activities, birthday parties, picnics
or corporate meetings. Call: (626) 256-8246.
