There are two parks in Mt. Shasta well worth checking out. Mt. Shasta
Parks and Recreation maintains the city
parks. The parks are ideal for those who
love the rugged nature of wild springs
that flow at the headwaters of the
Sacramento River. You can't imagine what
inspiration the parks provide in Mt.
Shasta till you come as a tourists and
see them from your outsider perspective.
Locals love them but the rest of the

Home to the headwaters of
Sacramento River, you can walk along the
creek and follow hedges of horsetail,
fern and willow.
Headquarters of the Mt. Shasta
Recreation & Parks District is located
in the park which is one mile north of
downtown Mt. Shasta City. Leased by the
District from the City of Mt. Shasta,
park facilities include four, large
picnic areas, two playgrounds, and five
public buildings. The park and
facilities are used extensively for
private rentals, sponsored clubs, public
events, as well as numerous educational
& cultural classes.

Shastice Park
is at the north eastern part of the city. The park consists of 38 acres, 14 of which are developed. An outdoor ice rink is available from November through April.
