Huntington Beach Pier is a concrete pier that stretches into the Pacific Ocean 1,856 feet. Along the route as you enter and tour the pier you'll see two restaurants to the left of the pier. Your first stop on the pier may be the Surf City Store, on your left, or Kite Connection on your right. Both sell exciting souvenir gifts and fun things. As you head toward the end of the easy to stroll deck, you'll see Tower 0 lifeguard tower on the left, and some free public restrooms beyond it. On the right you might notice the bait & tackle shop and finally, there' Ruby's Diner at the end of your walk. You can circle the perimeter of Ruby's to see the entire pier, or stop at the 40's diner and grab a great malt, shake or full meal.

Huntington Beach Pier is open daily from 5 a.m. to Midnight and there's beach parking on both sides of the base of the pier, though the parking may be limited on busy summer days and weekends. Dogs aren't allowed on the pier, and you also can't ride bicycles, skateboards or skates on the pier. There's no diving from pier but you can drop a fishing line and fish for free. Concrete benches are provided and periscopes offer magnified views of the ocean and coast if you put coins in them. Special events held directly on the pier are limited to Huck Finn Fishing Derby for kids, Duck-a-thon in May, and the launch of fireworks on the 4th of July.
