Swami's Beach in north San Diego County features surf themed decor and even a memorial made of stone, tile, rock and bronze. The sculpture is called Swamis Surfing Memorial. The small inlaid tiles form shapes of the ocean, waves and seaweed & kelp. From the base of the structure which is in a somewhat circular pattern on the ground an ocean swell (wave) rises up and crests into a curl.
Here is what the plaque says:
Dedicated with appreciation to Gary Taylor and the others whose efforts of the past and future make Encinitas a better place to live and surf. Swamis Surfing Memorial. Established 02 September 2005
Note that the plaque says "Swamis" without an apostrophe while city signs at the park post the name with 's.
