When you mention "Swami's" in California, there's only one place that comes to mind--the surfing beach in Encinitas, north San Diego County. Swami's isn't exclusively owned and operated by surfers. It is maintained by the City of Encinitas. However, on any given day just show up and if you see anyone at all, you'll see surfers. Shown in the photo is a surfboard on the ground, reflecting the casual lifestyle at this beloved beach. Closed only 2 hours per day (2-4 a.m.) just beware that lifeguards aren't always around. You're on your own!
