Home to its very own harbor not far from the largest port in the U.S. , (Port of Los Angeles & Port of Long Beach,) Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station in Orange County, California, sees military ships visiting the city sometimes once or twice per week.
The service women and men are regulars to Seal Beach and seem to enjoy having time in town to shop, dine and exercise on land.
Several years ago Seal Beach experienced excitement when the USS Dewey was commissioned in Seal Beach, the first time a commissioning has ever occurred in that city.
