The public recently got a sneak preview of
California's newest upscale destination--Pacific
City, off First Street and Pacific Coast
Highway, just south of Huntington Beach's Main
Street and Pier. Named for what HB was once
called, the $135 million retail development
features a 191,000-square-foot open air center,
which anticipates 60 restaurants and
stores debuting.
Some, including Savvy Naturals, Equinox (fitness
center), The Nook and H&M (apparel and
accessories) have opened.
Coming soon will be
Ola Mexican Kitchen, Lemonade (an LA foodie
spot), Smocking Birds (baby and children's
boutique) and Tommy Bahama (apparel, fashion and
lifestyle).
Lot 579 will have The American Dream (burgers
with a twist), the Bear Flag Fish Co. (fish
tacos, burritos and sushi), Burnt Crumbs (gourmet
sandwiches), Han's Homemade Ice Cream, Pie-Not
(Australian meat and vegetarian pie pastry),
Popbar (handcrafted gelato on a stick) and more.
A few of the other places coming are the Old
Crow Smokehouse (BBQ styles from the Carolinas,
Memphis, Kansas City and Texas) and the Ways and
Means Oyster House.
The sensational 31-acre project will also
highlight The Residences at Pacific City with
516 apartment homes and 52 penthouses. There's a
storefront Residence Design Center that's open
to show you more. One of the anchors opening in
the Spring of 2016 is the 250-room Pasea Hotel &
Spa. "Pasea" is Spanish for "to take a stroll."
And what better place to stroll than Pacific
City. It's something you'll be amazed at--a
temporary "vacation" from the hustle and bustle
of urban life. It creates it's own pleasant,
memorable, festive atmosphere that will make you
want to come back again and again.
Many of the businesses are designed to take
advantage of the unbelievable views of the
Pacific Ocean and HB Pier--each spectacular and
a bit different. There are ample outside patios
for guests in the stunning architecturally
designed center, which also has strolling,
uniformed security guards.
Guests grabbing a sneak peek were "oohing and
awing" over the fresh look this gives Huntington
Beach, adding another dimension to "Surf City."
If "variety is the spice of life," then Pacific
City offers something for everyone, even
canines. There's a Top Dog Bakery-Bath and
Boutique for grooming, day care and birthday
parties.
"We're thrilled with the turnout at the preview
to check it out," said Sarah Corrigan of DJM
Capital. "It's such a unique location and we
have so much to offer." DJM Capital Partners,
with two other landowners, is developing the
property, which has 1,000 parking spaces and
tenants have an option of validating for up to
two hours. DJM also is involved in nearby Bella
Terra (Huntington Beach) and Lido Marina Village
in Newport Beach.
