Mt. Shasta Ski Park hasn't officially opened for the 2013 season yet
but they management says it's coming close, according to their website
and Facebook posts, which announced they say they have begun making
snow. Built in 1985 Mt. Shasta Ski Park is the newest winter resort in
California and one of the newest in the entire United States. The
Guinness Book of World Records lists Mount Shasta receiving the most
snowfall ever in a single snowstorm--189 inches on February 13-19, 1959.
The annual New Year's celebration includes live music, fireworks by Pyro
Spectaculars, a torchlight parade, and lots of fun beginning around 3
