Theme park aficionados are always looking for the newest thrills. Universal Studios Hollywood, Knott's Berry Farm, Disneyland, Legoland California and Six Flags Magic Mountain are all reaching for the sky in 2015 to bring new highs to their fans. Here are a few things to look forward to:

  • Universal Studios Hollywood– big renovation, new high-speed "Fast & Furious" 3D experience attraction on the Studio Backlot Tour.
  • Disneyland's California Adventurelimited engagement Frozen Fun based on the popular movie runs Jan 7 – May 15. For its 60th anniversary Disneyland may introduce a night time parade, fashioned after Paint the Night parade at Hong Kong Disneyland with floats from "Cars," "Toy Story," "Monsters Inc.," "Beauty and the Beast," "Little Mermaid" and "Peter Pan."
  • Knott's Berry Farmintroduces Voyage of the Iron Reef, a four-person, submarine-inspired ride billed as 4D.
  • Legoland Californiahas two new attractions — Star Wars Miniland Death Star is arriving in time for spring break and an entirely new area, Heartlake City, based on the popular LEGO Friends should open before summer.
  • Six Flags Magic Mountain‘s Colossus transforms into a record-setting 8,000-foot-plus looping Twisted Colossus, a hybrid, steel-wooden coaster with a 128-foot drop at 80 degrees, combining Top Gun, High Five and a Zero G Roll.
  • Six Flags Discovery Kingdom‘s new Dare Devil Chaos Coaster takes riders on 360 degree revolutions, seated face-to-face or back-to-back, looping full speed around the single circular track up to seven stories high, only to stop and suspend riders upside-down before reversing direction.
  • California's Great Americahas three new Planet Snoopy rides in 2015 — Joe Cool's Gr8Sk8, Peanuts 500 and Snoopy's Space Buggies. Gr8Sk8 will be an interactive ride atop Snoopy's giant skateboard with the feeling of going off the edge. Peanuts 500 lets racers zoom around the track and slingshot around the track ends, while Snoopy's Space Buggies lifts astronauts into the air for a gravity defying lunar landing.
