Mentone is a residential community and census-designated place near Redlands in San Bernardino County. Sitting along State Route 38, the road provides direct access from its location at the base of the San Bernardino mountains and destinations such as Big Bear Lake. Like neighboring Redlands, Mentone sits on land once filled with citrus groves.

In recent decades Mentone grew rapidly as new housing tracts sprang up with large homes often over 3,000 square feet in space, providing the answer to those seeking a spacious house in expensive Southern California.

The name Mentone may originated from Latin "mens" meaning mind and "tonus" which means stretching, thus stretching or toning mind.

Located in a region known as the Inland Empire, Mentone's location accesses 10 Freeway, San Bernardino National Forest, Yucaipa Regional Park. The mountains are ever present and offer commanding views to residents of Mentone who have easy access to great outdoor adventures.

In approx. 30-45 minutes you can be in the mountains snow skiing in the winter or water skiing in the summer at Big Bear Lake, and have countless hiking trails, camping, horseback and other sports offered in the mountain resorts.
