Sunset Beach, California is a seaside one-mile long community in Orange County. Situated between Seal Beach to the north and Huntington Beach to the south, the sandy destination enjoys an eclectic history over 100 years long, and is proud of its community and citizens. Famous residents have included Sandra Bullock and others who prefer not to reveal that they live there.
With several hotels on the beach, Sunset Beach is a great vacation for those seeking pure beach vacations. But the nightlife near hotels allows you to walk to the little dinner houses, bars and clubs with live music, lots of noise and good times.
Restaurants range from Mexican, Italian and Greek to even a wine bar with sandwiches and sips of boutique wines.
When visiting Sunset Beach, the beach is the highlight of any trip. The ocean views include Catalina Island to the southwest, and San Pedro and Rancho Palos Verdes mountains to the northwest.
Across the street on Pacific Coast Highway that runs the length of the town is Sunset Island, part of the town's land. And it is located to Huntington Beach's Huntington Harbour with five manmade islands, including several that are accessible from Sunset Beach.
The name of Sunset Beach (California) was once used in a soap opera. The place is real but the show was fictionally set in this community. There were no actual places portrayed in the soap opera existing in the REAL Sunset Beach. Nevertheless, it made for great chatter for those who visited from around the globe, hoping to find that dream town. What they found upon arrival was quite different, but every bit as interesting and and alluring. Sunset Beach is the town that dreams are made of.
