When author Craig MacDonald wrote, "Seeing this could save your life," he was referring to an exhibition and attraction in Buena Park, Calif. called "BODIES". While that exhibit ran its course and moved onto other cities in 2016, it now has new life and new name in Santa Monica. Bodies 2.0: The Universe Within, showcases over 200 actual human specimens, whole bodies and organs respectfully displayed, while making the human body explorable through a virtual reality 'ride' that takes visitors into the inside of a human body for a closer look at the inner self. A new, seven minute immersive experience uses VR headsets a(offered at a small extra charge).

Why should you see BODIES 2.0? We think it's a great thing to see if it saves your life, but it's also an incredibly fascinating study of the human anatomy that most of us will never get otherwise.

Over in China there are some talented, detail-oriented, precision slicers and dicers who have taken real corpses and used new chemicals and composites to preserve the look of actual body parts so we can see them as they actually would appear if you and I could see inside the body much like surgeons do.

BODIES 2.0 may be a limited engagement attraction but it is one of our favorites. It's definitely a visual journey. If you need to wear glasses to see details, take them so you can take in the intricacies of blood vessels, lungs, muscles, and more. You won't see your friends and yourself (when you look in a mirror) the same  way after you visit Santa Monica and see BODIES 2.0. It is awesome!
