SEAL BEACH, CALIF. — The top three things to see in Seal Beach are the Seal Beach Pier, the beach and Main Street.

1. The Seal Beach Pieris a popular wooden pier with a restaurant located at the end. As you enter the pier you'll see a flagpole and American flag usually flapping or fluttering in the wind. To your left is a plaque telling about the pier. Then there's Slick the bronze Seal that people adore and stop to pose with.  Seal Beach Pier has benches, periscopes and fish washing/cleaning basins. The views include the big city of Long Beach, oil platforms off shore, Catalina Island and awesome sunsets.

2. Seal Beach beach, a must-see on visits, is best experienced not on the pier, but down on the sand. It's about a mile long and features parking facilities, restrooms, and a kids enclosed playground. There is also a nice launch area for kite and wind surfing.

3. Main Streetis connected to Seal Beach Pier and the beach, providing a street to drive to the places, a place to shop, to dine and to meander and enjoy the small town vibe. There are several souvenir beach stores, plenty of hamburger, seafood, pizza and wine bars and regular bars, boutiques, personal services, and several gourmet coffee shops.
