Rare 1949 Color Film ‘Of Scrap & Steel’ at Free LA Mission Rooftop Premier

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. — A free roof-top screening of a newly-discovered circa 1949 short color film of Main Street and Skid Row life in downtown Los Angeles will be shown on October 25, 2012, on the newly-renovated rooftop deck at the Union Rescue Mission (URM). The Mission-produced Of Scrap & Steel, will be shown on conjunction with a new series of downtown stories featuring material from the Union Rescue Mission Archives.
