Venus and Mars at the Beach

At the US Open of Surfing (usopenofsurfing.com) this week in Huntington Beach the theory that “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus,” can be visualized when you see the two sexes stand side by side on the Huntington Beach Pier. Men have less hair on their heads, more clothes on their bodies, and tend to dress in simple colors–black, white, gray or tan. Women or girls, on the other hand, have long flowing strands of colored & coiffed hair, tanned bodies and wear clothes that let their assets show. Over 1 million visitors hope to see and be seen out on the beach through Sunday, July 28, 2013, where the action isn’t necessarily about 3-5 foot waves (ho-hum), according to the girls from Venus. The guys from Mars see things completely different, however.

The US Open of Surfing is free admission and includes free concerts on the beach today, July 26, with Matt Costa and Modest Mouse performing near Huntington Beach Pier at 4:30 p.m. Here’s the schedule and parking information.
