When Four-time Grammy Award Winner Stanley Clarke took to the stage yesterday on the final day of the Long Beach Jazz Festival, a sea of fashionably dressed fans raised their hands and said, “oh yeah,” as the living legend mentioned his collaborations with Chick Corea – Return to Forever, and George Duke, who recently passed away. Clarke paid tribute to his former music partner (who died a week ago) with one of the most popular and best-known songs recorded under the Clarke/Duke Project — Sweet Baby. The 1981 Sony release written by George Duke made the Top 20 list and remains a timeless classic, much like the Long Beach Jazz Festival.
