Two exciting events this holiday season take place at CALM, a fantastic Bakersfield zoo with bear, deer and all sorts of critters running around. The day after Thanksgiving people are invited to Feast for the Beasts. The annual tradition invites you to bring specific food items (and get free admission) to feed the animals their meals. That happens on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. But the bigger event is the annual HolidayLights at CALM. Now in its 11th year, the night-time event includes 2 million sparkling lights and more than 65 displays shaped like zoo animals.
One more event (among many) that takes place this holiday in Bakersfield is the annual Christmas Parade on December 5, 2013.
