Autism Workshop Invites Public to Get Answers for Access to Health Coverage
Over the last 18 months, the California Autism Insurance Mandate (SB 946) requires that most health plans cover treatment for children with autism and related disorders. In addition, the Affordable Care Act exchange plans also cover ABA (applied behavior analysis). A workshop to educate parents on the law and the most effective ways to access coverage is being hosted by Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD). If your family is impacted by autism and related disorders, CARD has 16 California locations, see centerforautism.com
FREE two-hour workshop will teach you:
· What insurance companies will and will not cover
· Types of plans and rules regarding coverage
· Effective strategies to maximize your benefits
· How to understand the complexities of different insurance carriers
· Which plans will have to comply with SB 946 and Affordable Care Act
· What to know during open enrollment
