It’s that time of year when California Central Coast’s meadows and hills are electrified with color. Yellow wildflowers and lush green grass make their grand appearance, transforming the burnished-gold landscape for a few weeks or longer. All it takes is a little rain to turn nature’s spring colors on, and more rain to prolong the annual show.
Punctuated by gnarled & twisted Coast Live Oak trees, you’ll find the special spot (shown in the photo) near the intersection of Interstate 101 and CA Hwy 154, approx. 50 miles north of Santa Barbara.
Coast Live Oaks a along the “Kings Highway” once played a significant role in the lives of natives who ate their acorns for sustenance.
