Greetings from the Garlic Capital of the World! What are locals up to when not planning and executing the summer Garlic Festival. The city that often smells like garlic has fun celebrating each season, but winter is special as Gilroy Gardens themed attraction is decked out with holiday lights–an annual delight! There’s also a heart-warming parade with thousands showing up to see their favorite scout troop, high school band or local celeb. Then there’s the Costume Contest for pets–adorable! And what about the songs around the Christmas tree with talented acts performing in the build up to Santa’s arrival and tree lighting. Gilroy has really come into its own as a destination and this weekend on Dec. 6, 2014 you can see all the celebrations while purchasing some garlic gifts in local shops. There are more than 30 holiday parades on Dec. 6.
