Have you ever heard of Boontling, the unofficial language of Boonville, Calif.? This weekend “fog-eaters” (coastal dwellers), “deep enders” (Navarro residents), and high rollers (Yorkville residents) are heading for the Legendary Boonville Beer Festival at Mendocino County Fairgrounds. The “tidrik” (social gathering) in “Boont” (Boonville) will include plenty of Ball Hornin’ (good drinking.) Boont is a language created by Boonville residents in the late 1800s & early 1900s to amuse themselves and confuse outsiders. You’ll be right at home having a barrel of fun at this annual event.
