Spring racing season goes into full swing with a slew of boat races in the Pacific Ocean, bays and lakes that are great fun. The list of races is so extensive, in fact, that a single organization, Yacht Racing Assoc., lists over 100 upcoming events this month in just one region that includes Berkeley, Carquinez Straits, Folsom Lake, Alameda and Vallejo. Racing organizations include American Power Boat Association, National Jet Boat Racing Association, Offshore Yacht Racing Assoc., and many more. Here are some upcoming events:
- Long Beach Congressional Cup April 5-10, 2016. One of the oldest and most prestigious Match Racing Events in the world.
- Newport to Ensenada April 22-24, great views from Corona del Mar
- San Diego International Dragon Boat Race April 9-10
- Bakersfield Spring Fling Jet Boat Race at Lake Ming April 23-24
- Great Vallejo Race April 30-May 1
- Catalina Water Ski Race July 16
