Fierce Scots Compete in California
Scots travel throughout California to participate in games, music, dance, foods and history of their proud culture and people known as fierce defenders of their lands. Advice to 13th century Norse travelers making the journey to Scotland: “Icelanders who want to practice robbery are advised to go there … but it may cost them their life.”
Vikings did penetrate and move into areas of Scotland as evidenced by Scottish clans with direct Viking (Norse) descent such as Clan MacDonald of the Isles, Clan MacLeod, Clan MacQueen and MacAulay.
