Number Three Not a Bad Place to Be on Christmas Day

Californians and their visitors could be looking in a mirror on Christmas Day at Disneyland in Anaheim, the #3 choice of American travelers this year. With a comfortable 67 degree day, they share so much with the nation’s #1 choice for holiday vacations — Orlando, Florida. Also enjoying 67 degree temperatures at Walt Disney World, guests can catch some of the exact same entertainment a coast away! From the singing Dapper Dans to parades and fireworks shows, it’s amazing just how similar things are.

According to AAA, 1 in 3 Americans traveled for Christmas this year. Their top destinations were Orlando, FL., Cancun, MX., then Anaheim, CA — two theme parks and a beach with a temp of around 76.

If you’ve never spent your holiday at Disneyland, you really won’t know what you’re missing till you try it out. If you can overlook the crowds (kind of the norm,) you may find yourself enjoying Christmas traditions in a whole, new way. From watching bakers, cookie, and candy-makers concocting treats shaped like Disney characters adorned with frosting wreaths, to being entertained by rides, music, dancing, drama, dining and shopping, there’s simply no down time at this holiday extravaganza.

If you’d stayed home you’d be wondering what to do next after the presents were opened and meals served. At Disneyland you have to figure how you’re going to keep the energy flowing from 8 a.m. opening to 12 a.m. closing. It’s an intoxicating, 16-hour holiday extravaganza with a thousand things to see and do and the realization that you have to make choices.

We at SeeCalifornia.com have spent the majority of our lives near Disneyland. Enjoying hundreds of trips to Disneyland at Christmas, even without attending we can hear the nightly fireworks 15-20 miles away at our beach office!  There’s definitely some magic at work and for our liking, America’s #3 choice is not a bad place to be!
