Not Yo Mama’s American (Pride) Parade in San Diego

Published on: July 16, 2012

America’s Pride is the  theme for the  2012 San Diego Pride Parade, the 4th largest pride parade in the U.S.  Over 200,000 people come to the annual event which includes a two day festival in Balboa Park July 21-22, 2012. Entrants take to the streets at 11 a.m on July 21 for the Saturday morning parade, which includes massive crowds lining University Avenue. Floats, bands and an all-star cast of outrageous, bold and even corny costumed performers, dancers, cross-dressers & queens will all strut their stuff. The parade marches on over to Balboa Park where bands rock throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. The parade is free to see, and the festival charges a fee. Proceeds help fund the non-profit San Diego Pride organization, which has awarded over $1 million to special causes.  sdpride.org
