Going Bananas Over New Port Hueneme Festival!

Published on: August 12, 2012

Do you ever feel nature is trying to send you a message? Sometimes there’s hidden meaning in these signs while other times it’s as clear as the nose on your face. The message I have been getting is “bananas”. Just yesterday I snapped this photo of a kid eating a frozen banana on a stick, dipped in chocolate and rolled in colorful candy confections. I came home and ate a banana. Next, I opened my email and there was an announcement of a new banana festival coming to California. I must be crazy as an ape! I’m GOING–bananas!

The FREE first annual Port Hueneme Banana Festival which celebrates the 75th anniversary of an active port, offers festival goers an opportunity to learn about the journey of the banana and the inner workings of the Port, while enjoying delicious banana foods, music, dance and fun! The festival takes place Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Port of Hueneme, Harbor District, 105 East Port Hueneme Road. To learn more about the 1st Annual Banana Festival or to inquire about vendor or sponsorship opportunities, call (805) 256-4181.  BananaPortFest.com
